Meet Abbey

Abbey grew up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney surrounded by the ocean and covered in sand. She attended primary and secondary school in Sydney however moved to Melbourne to complete her five years of tertiary education at RMIT University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) with Distinction. In 2017 Abbey was lucky enough to spend a month working in two Indian Hospitals. She enjoyed her time and admits it broadened her clinical knowledge and improved her skill set. She was humbled to provide much needed manual therapy to the local community. Abbey played every sport imaginable growing up but her main loves are soccer and swimming, which continues to participate in, and utilizes her knowledge of sports into her treatment plans. Abbey is a registered practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Osteopathy Australia (OA). Outside of work, Abbey’s passions include travel, art and cooking.

When to visit Abbey

As an Osteopath, most people visit when they are experiencing pain in the muscles or joints, or nerve pain. The pain may be a result of an acute injury, or it may be pain that has been around for months or years- what many call ‘chronic pain’ or ‘chronic intermittent pain’ if it is pain that comes and goes. Abbey enjoys helping people who are experiencing:

We’ll typically answer the phone between (7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. If we don’t catch your call, please do leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. What to expect at your first appointment

Your first appointment with Abbey will be about 45 minutes to 1 hour long. During this time she will discuss with you your medical history in relation to the reason for your visit, as well as other relevant information such as daily routines like office work or sports, which may be contributing factors. Abbey will then carry out a number of movement based tests. These tests may include orthopaedic testing, a spinal examination, postural assessment, muscle testing, and neurological testing. To carry out these tests it is often necessary for you to remove your outer layers of clothing, depending on which body part/s require assessment. You will never have to remove your underwear, and gowns and towelling are always available to cover areas that are not being assessed. You will usually receive treatment on your first visit with Abbey unless it’s un-safe to do so. Return and ongoing visits are usually 20-30 minutes long and offer treatment & periodic comparative assessments to work towards your goals.

Appointment times and fees

Abbey is typically available for appointments at our Circular Quay clinic between 7:30am and 1:30pm, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bookings are essential. Your first appointment with Abbey is $160 (allow about 30 mins) Follow-up appointments with Abbey are $110 (allow 20-30 mins) Payment methods available include cash, VISA, MasterCard and AMEX. Private health fund rebates are available at the time of payment via HICPAS for those with cover for Osteopathy.
