David Aboud Physiotherapist and Osteopath

PHYSIOTHERAPIST & OSTEOPATH – B.APP.SCI (OSTEO), M.OSTEO, D.PHYS
DIRECTOR, QUAY HEALTH SYDNEY

Dr David Aboud completed both his Bachelor and Masters degree in Osteopathy at RMIT University, Victoria. After graduating, he spent the first four years of his career working alongside some of the most prominent practitioners within the Osteopathic profession. This helped establish him as an adept clinician amongst his peers with an enthusiastic thirst for knowledge. These early years helped shape his desire to continue learning and become a leader within the Osteopathic profession.

David’s passion for clinical excellence led him to complete his postgraduate studies at Macquarie University, Sydney, completing the Doctor of Physiotherapy program. While living in Sydney, David worked as a senior Osteopath in one of Sydney’s largest multidisciplinary centres. During this time, he developed an internship program for graduate Osteopaths with a key focus on clinical excellence, evidence based practice and objective outcomes.

David presents a unique skill set as a practitioner that combines the vast array of Osteopathic techniques with the evidence based approach of Physiotherapy. He is able to draw upon objective assessment and outcome measures, while applying techniques and rehab protocols with proven therapeutic benefits. By educating his clients, David helps them understand the cause of their problem, the likely course of the condition and their options for managing and resolving the complaint.

As part of completing his Doctor of Physiotherapy, David was involved in a large scale systematic review (the gold standard of research trials) that looked to determine whether MRI findings are a useful predictive tool for future neck pain. He was fortunate to have been supervised by one of the world’s leading back pain researchers and works alongside other experts in the field of back and neck pain. This paper was published in a high-quality journal in late 2017. With his experience in research and a keen interest in sports injuries, back and neck pain, David has quickly established himself as a leader in his field.

David is a registered practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), OsteopathY Australia (OA), the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and Sports Medicine Australia (SMA).
