Meet Tenae

Tenae completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Australian Catholic University where she gained exposure to Women’s Health Physiotherapy and has since developed extensive experience with pre and postnatal rehabilitation within the private practice setting. Tenae has recently returned from international Physiotherapy work in the UK where she worked in the NHS and with semi-professional Rugby Union. She also has post-graduate professional qualifications in Dry needling, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation, Pilates and Sports Level 1. She currently enjoys working with elite Triathletes and has been the interstate Fremantle Dockers Football Club Sports Trainer.

Tenae is a keen sportswoman herself, having played netball at a national level, AFL internationally and is now currently an active Triathlete. With a large sporting background directing her ambition to become a physiotherapist, Tenae has an acquisition for biomechanics, and commitment to improving a diverse range of clients with a focus on functional assessment and treatment, corrective exercise rehabilitation, and manual therapy.

Tenae is a registered practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA).

When to visit Tenae

As a Physiotherapist, most people visit Tenae when they are experiencing pain in the muscles or joints, or nerve pain. The pain may an acute injury such as a fall at home, a workplace accident or sporting injury, or it may be pain that has been there for a long time- what many call ‘chronic pain’ or ‘chronic intermittent pain’ if it comes and goes.

An incomplete list of what many people have visited Tenae for over the past decade includes:

  • Neck, back, and joint pain, including disc injuries
  • Postural back pain
  • Muscle strains and spasms
  • Nerve entrapments such as carpal tunnel and sciatica
  • Headaches, migraine and jaw pain, as well as
  • Sporting injuries

How to make an appointment 

To make an appointment with Tenae at our Bridge Street clinic (between George Street and Pitt Street) call clinic reception on 9252 2825. We’ll typically answer the phone between (7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. If we don’t catch your call, please do leave a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. What to expect at your first appointment

Your first appointment with Tenae will be about 30 minutes. During this time Tenae will discuss with you your medical history in relation to the reason for your visit, as well as other relevant information such as daily routines like office work or sports, which may be contributing factors.

Tenae will then carry out a number of movement based tests. These tests may include orthopaedic testing, a spinal examination, postural assessment, muscle testing, and neurological testing.

To carry out these tests it is often necessary for you to remove your outer layers of clothing, depending on which body part/s require assessment. You will never have to remove your underwear, and gowns and towelling are always available to cover areas that are not being assessed.

You will usually receive treatment on your first visit with Tenae unless it’s un-safe to do so.

Return and ongoing visits are usually 20-30 minutes long and offer treatment & periodic comparative assessments to work towards your goals.

Appointment times and fees

Tenae is typically available for appointments at our Bridge St clinic between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. Bookings are essential.

  • Allow 30 minutes for your first appointment. This will cost $160.
  • Allow 20-30 minutes for follow-up appointments. These will cost $110.

Payment methods available include cash, VISA, MasterCard and AMEX.

Private health fund rebates are available at the time of payment via HICPAS for those with cover for Physiotherapy.
