Osteopathy

Quay Health is Located in Sydney’s CBD at 10, Bridge Street and is a short 5 minute walk from both Wynyard and Circular Quay Train Stations.

We provide quality osteopathy services from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.

Why Choose Quay Health?

Osteopathic care is a form of therapy where a practitioner called an Osteopath uses manual or hands-on techniques to treat musculoskeletal complaints.

They see the body as a whole, so when you have pain in one region they will focus on that region, surrounding regions and distant regions of the body. They are determined to find the cause to prevent re-injury and not just mask your symptoms.

Common conditions Osteopaths treat include:

  • Headaches
  • Back Pain
  • Postural Problems
  • Occupational injuries
  • Sports Injuries
  • Neck pain
  • Muscular Strains
  • Tendon Injuries
  • Shoulder pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Heel/Foot Pain
  • Shin Splints
  • Whiplash
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Sciatica

Our mission is to provide health care that empowers, educates and creates positive lasting change.

Bookings are essential to see an Osteopath in Sydney CBD. Appointments are typically available between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday

You can either call (02) 9252 2825 to find an available time or use our book online feature.

You do not require a referral to see an osteopath.

In an initial consult your Osteopath will take a full history of your injury as well any medical history that may be relevant. This will establish when and where the symptoms first started and how they may have changed over time. They may have questions regarding previous the treatments (if any), and the impact your injury may be having on your everyday life.

After gathering history of your injury, your Osteopath will carry out a hands-on examination of the area. They may ask you to change into a gown or sports shorts/singlets which can be provided by the clinic. This may comprise of various tests of joint range of motion, nervous system, strength and joint integrity. Generally, these tests are not painful. If you are in the acute stage of injury, your Osteopath may ask you to demonstrate what positions and movements reproduce or exacerbate your pain.

After identifying the underlying cause/s your Osteopath will set some treatment goals, with the ultimate goal being to restore maximal, pain-free movement to your muscles and joints. Occasionally if your injury requires it your osteopath has the ability to refer you for an x-ray, C-T scan or MRI.

While you should allow up to an hour for your first session, return visits are usually 20-30 minutes long and offer treatment & periodic comparative assessments to work towards your goals.
